Happy or not, it’s a New Year. Let’s focus on not dying, Canada’s 150th birthday, and how you can use the force!
With the darkness hovering over US politics, and the sadness of all the great people who died last year, some of you might be wondering what is there to celebrate?
Well, there is still lots of good in the world. We just need to use the light side of the force to practice our talents and stick together. 😉
I am constantly practicing my use of the force web talents for ‘good.’ By applying new skills to help organizations deliver their messages to the world, we web developers get to test the relevance of new web technologies. We can ask, “How are these tools improving your web publishing experience, or not? What results did you get by implementing new technology?” Time will tell, and this year my “practice” continues with a small celebrational focus on me.
It’s a new year bringing new hope — and a new website!
*taa daaaa!*
As a modest tech support guy, my work is often about helping you fix your issues. As such, my own website gets the least attention. While I’ve accumulated some pretty good experiences over the last decade until recently I’ve sucked at getting my own shoutouts and marketing messages into the wild. Being a father to a young family can also get in the way of one’s blog.
Well, that’s gotta change!
In today’s social media blog-heavy world, you need to SHOW at least that you’re keeping up with the pack, right?
‘Me me me! Look at me!’ We all need to keep our feathers fluffed to survive in the digital wild.
– some guy
You’ll still find me building a lot of websites, so I did update my portfolio. But WordPress training and Mac tutorial services for you are my new focus, so enough about me.
How can I be of service to you?
What workflows are you struggling with?
If you’re looking for a patient teacher of technology, give me a shout and consider these Mac training services to help you improve your skills.
If you’re looking for an experienced web designer & front-end developer, I am for hire and often work with some pretty cool people and talented local graphic designers.
Now, how about Canada, eh?
Celebrating a Country – in a theme
As a true Canadian, I’d like to politely close this post by acknowledging Canada’s 150th birthday. The background image of this website’s theme is a photo I took while hiking the West Coast Trail, one of Canada’s most stunning & rugged National Parks. It’s a picture of my strong & brilliant wife hiking across the TIDAL FLATS near the Carmanah Point Lighthouse. We hiked it most recently in 2004 with my Aunt & Uncle who run the Grateful Fed (if you’re ever in Kelowna, tell them I sent ya!). Before that, I hiked it in 1996 with my dad, bro, and late uncle. It’s a grueling trail, but the views and landscape are breathtaking.
Here’s wishing you a good year ahead.
May the force be with you all!
