Any speed is too slow…
Except when you discover the side trip.
Driving across Canada’s prairies can test your patience. The challenge is one of staying awake on the Trans Canada Highway, across the same straight road, through the vast flatness of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Ani DiFranco says it best in her song God’s Country: “…Out here on the prairies; any speed is too slow.”
But once you take a few side trips, like to Grasslands National Park, you’ll discover the grand beauty and captivating, shiny terrain of Canada’s breadbasket.
My wife and I took one such side trip into Grasslands Park. It’s definitely a must see for any romantic, budding naturalist.
